Climate & Weather of North America

North America goes from almost the North Pole to almost the equator.

North America is the only continent that has every type of climate.

The farther south one goes, the warmer the temperature gets in North America.

winter temperatures are colder in the higher elevations - usually about three degrees for every one thousand feet.

There are deserts, ice caps, and rain forests. The deserts are in Mexico and the western USA.

The ice caps are in Alaska (USA), Canada, and Greenland.

The longest glacier in North America is the Bering Glacier in Alaska.
